Taking Moodle Quizzes/Exams
A
quiz, test, or exam all can be set up with the Moodle Quiz tool. Some
instructors may even use the Quiz tool for basic assignments.
- Most
quizzes will have a time limit, so it is very important to set aside
enough time to complete the quiz without distractions before you begin.
- Also make sure
you have read all materials and completed all activities for a unit
before taking a quiz/exam.
- Also review any feedback your instructor
provided on those activities (you don't want to miss the same question
on an exam that you missed in the homework).
When you are ready to begin:
- Click the link for the quiz.
- Read the
instructions and notice the time limit.
- Press Attempt quiz now
to begin.
- You will have to confirm that you are ready by clicking Start attempt.
- Once you do, the timer will start.
- You might see one question per page or multiple questions per page
depending on how your instructor set the quiz up.
- Answer the question(s)
and click the Next button to go to the next page.
- As
you go from question to question, you will notice a button to flag each
question. This is useful if you might want to come back and review that
question later.
- You can navigate back to questions using the
Quiz navigation block on the left by clicking on the question
number. Flagged questions will have a red triangle in the top-right
corner. After you have reviewed a flagged question, you can click the
flag to remove the flag from that question.
- After answering the last question, you will see a "Summary of
attempt" page that will show whether each question has been saved or
"Not yet answered."
- Be sure to review any questions not yet answered if
time allows. You can come back to this page by using the "Finish
attempt..." link in the Quiz navigation block.
- When you are sure
all questions are answered, click the Submit all and finish
button and then confirm that you want to submit.
You can review your quiz results by clicking back on the original
quiz link. What results you can see and how soon you can see them depend
on settings established by your instructor. This will vary.
Some instructors may use Respondus LockDown Browser or ProctorU to
ensure academic integrity for their exams. More information is
provided below and on the Moodle Support Site.
